Shadow Conversations (2020 - present)
Variable dimensions
Shadow Conversations is an ongoing series of collaborative watercolor portraits and conversations that explores the relationship between personal memory and history. During each portrait session, participants are invited to reflect on a single question: When did you first feel that you live in history? As they share their stories, their shadow is projected onto paper and painted in watercolor, transforming the conversation itself into part of the artwork. Rather than depicting physical likeness, the portraits trace the intersection of individual experience and collective memory. The shadow becomes both a portrait and a record of testimony, revealing how political events are remembered through intimate moments, personal narratives, and lived experience. Each session creates a unique encounter in which conversation and drawing unfold simultaneously, allowing memory to emerge through the shared act of making.
